In preparation for potential industrial action, the airline took the decision Thursday to cancel 18 Saturday morning flights, affecting around 2,500 passengers travelling to and from Asia, Europe and domestic destinations.

Although a full strike was averted, a further dispute – this time over a new contract for airline caterers – is still threatening to hamper traffic at airports and freight terminals.  Employers and unions will return to the negotiating table next week.
