HTC will make payments to Nokia and collaboration will involve HTC's LTE patent portfolio. The two companies will also explore future technology collaboration opportunities. The full terms of the agreement are confidential, but it is known that Nokia is dropping all legal action against HTC over the use of its intellectual property.

Nokia has also been engaged in patent disputes with the Canadian Blackberry (formerly RIM) company and the American Viewsonic.
