Finland's president Sauli Niinistö and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had a telephone discussion Monday that focused largely on the situation in Ukraine.

to President Niinistö's office, the call took place Monday afternoon at
Finland's initiative.
President
Niinistö's office reported that the discussion was focused on the Ukraine
crisis and efforts to find a settlement. President Niinistö reportedly
considered it important that the Minsk process is allowed to move ahead.
