Band leader Ville Valo motivated the tour by saying the band hasn’t played very often in Finland since the early 2000s.
Over the years the band has only played a few large summer festivals around Finland and a handful of rare club dates in Helsinki.
The tour will take them to Tampere (at Pakkahuone), Jyväskylä (at Lutakko) and Turku (at Klubi), playing one city per night from August 15 to 17.
The band formed in 1991 and has since garnered an audience around the world. In 1999, HIM’s single Join Me in Death reached number one on the German music charts and is the best-selling Finnish single in history.
The band’s fifth studio album released in 2006, Dark Light, entered the charts at number 20 in the US, and later achieved gold album status there, the first Finnish band to do so.
The band is currently working on material for a future album.
