Commuter train delays in the capital city region

A malfunction in the rail traffic control system on Friday morning created delays for A and P trains servicing the capital city region. The estimated delays are in the order of 5 to 20 minutes. There is also a possibility that individual runs will be cancelled.

Problems with the rail traffic control system created delays for A and P trains servicing the capital city region Friday morning. Trains travelling between the Ilmala and Huopalahti stops were forced to drive at a reduced speed for safety reasons.

Until the problem is fixed, delays are expected but they should last no longer than 20 minutes. Some runs may be cancelled all together, however. Rail Traffic Centre personnel say passengers travelling the new Ring Rail route to the Helsinki Airport should still make it to their flights on time if they plan ahead.

“There’s still time, as the trains servicing the Helsinki Airport from the other direction will run normally."

The fault is being repaired as quickly as possible.
