Iraqi man assaulted at Kangasala reception centre

Police are seeking three men in connection with an assault on an Iraqi man at a reception centre in Kangasala, near Tampere. The three used a knife in the attack as well as punching the victim in the face.

An Iraqi man was assaulted in the grounds of an asylum reception centre in Kangasala on Wednesday. The man had been in the yard of the Kaivanto reception centre talking on the phone when a black or brown car drove onto the premises.

The victim says three men then emerged from the car and stabbed him with the knife and punched him in the face. The victim sustained only light injuries and has already been discharged from hospital.

Police are looking for three white men in connection with the incident, which they’re investigating as aggravated assault. Two of the suspects are 175cm tall and one is 180cm tall. One of them has a tattoo on the back of his hand.
