Nokia has bagged a major deal with Indian state-owned telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

Nokia will supply 40,000 new mobile base stations with Chinese telecom gear maker ZTE.  Kauppalehti estimates the deal with ZTE is worth 800 million euros.

BSNL plans to expand its network coverage with new 3G and 4G connections over the next two years, and Nokia will execute the expansion in the southern and western regions of India. The expansion will give over two million people better access to wireless internet.
