The resumption of power generation at the long-delayed Olkiluoto 3 nuclear reactor has been moved to Tuesday 14 February, according to a tweet (siirryt toiseen palveluun) from the facility's operator Teollisuuden Voima (TVO).
"The plant supplier will carry out a few more additional inspections at the turbine plant before power generation resumes," the firm said.
TVO's communications manager Johanna Aho had told Yle on Monday that production would resume on Friday this week.
Damage to the reactor’s feedwater pumps, and subsequent inspections, caused the latest series of delays for a project that has been besieged by setbacks.
The beginning of full-scale electricity production will also be delayed by a few days, TVO added, with the new date now scheduled for 18 March.
