The Palace Restaurant in central Helsinki has again been chosen as the country's best restaurant.
Every year, around 400 experts in the food and restaurant industries vote on the country's 50 best eateries. The ranking is organised by the online publication Viisi Tähteä (roughly, Five Stars), which announced the results in Helsinki on Thursday.
The Michelin-starred Palace Restaurant, which overlooks the city's South Harbour, has led the ranking for four years in a row.
Out of the country's top 50 restaurants, 33 are located in Helsinki, according to this year's list.
The Palace was followed by Helsinki eatery BasBas (Baskeri & Basso) and Kaskis, in southwestern Finland's Turku.
This summer, Turku is set to host a Michelin Star Revelation event.
Apart from Kaskis, only one other of this year's top 20 restaurants is located outside the capital – Kajo in Tampere, which ranked 18th.
Participants who vote for the best restaurants base their decisions on food but also other factors, including an establishment's philosophy, its resourcefulness, as well as its service and staff.
