EMMA, Espoo Museum of Modern Art, is opening a digital online service it has dubbed the "EMMA Zone".
The museum said the EMMA Zone will feature regularly-updated videos, interviews, podcasts and articles about art, design and a "new online museum experience".
"Alongside the physical experience of visiting a museum, digital services have become an increasingly important part of the work done by museums. We at EMMA are constantly producing high-quality digital content in a variety of formats that we now bring to audiences through EMMA Zone in an approachable, playful and visually inviting way," the museum's development director Saara Suojoki said in a release issued on Wednesday.
The "zine-styled" online exhibits consist of four "zones", offering various forms of multimedia materials to "watch, read and experience", according to the museum. They include the "Thinking Zone, Behind the Scenes at EMMA, Bubbling Under and Children's Art Questions".
Unlike EMMA's terrestrial version in Espoo, the EMMA Zone is accessible all day long, year-round from anywhere.
