Police in Southwest Finland have detained a third suspect in the investigation into a suspected case of child abduction that took place in the city of Pori on Sunday.
Investigators have reached the conclusion that the child was taken abroad without a guardian's consent.
Now, a total of three individuals are under suspicion of abduction and aggravated deprivation of liberty crimes.
Inspector Kimmo Lindholm, who is leading the investigation, confirmed on Thursday that a third person has been taken into custody in connection with the case.
The main suspect, a Finnish man thought to be around 60 years old, was ordered to be remanded in custody in abstentia by Satakunta District Court on Tuesday.
In addition, a woman, who authorities said was in her fifties, has been in custody since Monday. A request by police for her continued detainment is pending approval from Satakunta District Court.
