Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics is headed to Finland for a working visit next week, according to a press release issued on Friday by Finland's president's office.
Finnish President Sauli Niinistö will host his Latvian counterpart on Thursday 28 September, when the leaders are scheduled to hold official discussions at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki.
Planned discussion topics during the meeting include bilateral relations between Finland and Latvia, as well as security issues of the Baltic Sea region and Europe.
The Latvian president is also scheduled to meet with Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo (NCP) and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Paula Risikko (NCP).
Niinistö and Rinkevics will hold a joint press conference during the visit.
Next week's trip marks Rinkevics' first visit to Finland as president, according to the Finnish president's office.
Meanwhile, Niinistö's most recent visit to Latvia was in December 2022 to attend a Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) country leaders' meeting.
