Sara Forsberg, 20, is probably best known by her YouTube-moniker of Smoukahontas. Earlier this year her “What Languages Sound Like To Foreigners” –video went viral and to date has garnered over 12 million views. She took off to California to work on her YouTube career, landed a record deal from Capitol Records and in the Summer it was announced that she would be working on a feature film as well.
We have been dying to know which film but Forsberg’s manager Johannes Ylinen has been fairly tightlipped about the film project, only giving a small tidbit to the press.
“Sara has booked a small role in a Hollywood film and will soon head out to the set. It’s an American film, that’ll be shot abroad”, he states in an interview over at MTV.fi.
I assume the project in question is “Skiptrace”.
The seeds for the deal to cast Forsberg in the film might have been planted in this March as episode 2 of her web series “Sara goes LA”, for MTV Katsomo, reveals that she’s had a meeting with fellow Finn Renny Harlin at the Hollywood Hotel Roosevelt. “Just for a casual, everyday business chat… how things here in L.A. work and such”, she tells on the video.
In her most recent video on Wednesday Forsberg revealed that she’s now off to the set of her mystery movie in Beijing. That would be where “Skiptrace” is currently also filming...
Will we see her in the film when it hits the screens in 2016? I believe so.
