Yle only cooperates with parties that commit to adhering to Yle’s values and Code of Conduct. By approving this commitment agreement, our partner agrees to follow them in its activities.

Compliance with laws and regulations

We comply with national and international laws and regulations, as well as generally accepted business principles and practices, in everything we do.

Business principles

Our business is based on generally accepted and ethical principles, openness and transparency. We do not take advantage of low tax countries that do not send information about business activities and investors to authorities in other countries.
We respect our commitments and disclose information about our activities openly, honestly and equally. We maintain an active and constant interaction with authorities and different stakeholders.

Conflicts of interest

We always expect our employees to work in the best interests of the company by not engaging in business relationships that may result in conflicts of interest. Our employees must avoid personal and financial activities that may be in conflict with their obligations towards the company.

Unethical trading and bribery

We do not engage in any unethical trading or offer bribes, any other illegal benefits or money to acquire business opportunities, to maintain our activities or to obtain favourable official decisions or any other services.
Our employees do not offer or accept gifts or services that exceed the limit of normal and regular hospitality. In unclear situations, our employees must contact members of the company’s management to identify practices approved by the company. Similarly, our employees must notify representatives of the company’s management of any irregular business activities that may result in conflicts of interest.

Human rights

We respect and follow the principles of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Being an employer, we follow the basic rights of employees defined by the International Labour Organization (ILO).

We comply with all laws and regulations on equality. We do not accept any discrimination in work arrangements or employment terms based on ethnic origin, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, memberships with employee associations, political activities or similar.
