The Public Broadcasting International (PBI) 2019 conference will be held at the Helsinki Music Centre on 9–11 September 2019.
Yle is hosting the PBI 2019 conference, aimed at the world’s public broadcasters, next week. The event offers a look into the industry’s most interesting trends and innovations as well as insights on their impact on the operations of public broadcasting companies.
“I’m happy that we can get together with this unique and international community for the first time in Finland. The theme of the PBI conference in Helsinki is the significance and value that our respective public services have for society,” says Merja Ylä-Anttila, the Chief Executive Officer of Yle.
Conference discussions will focus, among other things, on the relationship between democracy and the media as well as on the importance of collaboration in the field of media.
PBI is a global community made up of more than 80 public service media companies from all over the world. The annual conference hosts media company representatives, experts and journalists. Participants from approximately 30 countries have signed up for this year’s conference.
Last year the event was held in Seoul, South Korea.
