Thomas Zehetmair
2 Thomas Zehetmair Picture by: Dan Brady thomas zehetmair

The violin concerto composed by Schumann shortly before his death gathered dust in his desk drawer for 80 years before finally finding its way onto the concert platform in an unbelievable way. Schubert’s sixth symphony does not deserve the “Little” generally attached to it, for it is a fine half-hour work that hardly counts as a miniature. Other full-scale works for chamber ensemble are The Unanswered Question by Ives and Ligeti’s Ramifications.
