Aulis Sallinen has composed orchestral accompaniments to the well-known solo songs by Sibelius chosen for the FRSO’s Independence Day concert. Taking the solo part is the superb Swedish soprano Anne Sofie von Otter. Other items on the programme include the orchestral work by Sebastian Fagerlund.
