Prokofiev’s futuristic 2nd Piano Concerto brings to an end a project in which Olli Mustonen and the FRSO have performed and recorded all five Prokofiev Piano Concertos. Kokkonen’s Symphony no. 4 is a monumental memorandum of the horizontal light and undulations of the North. The work composed by Martinů in Cape Cod and New York is a seldom-heard treat for the ear.
