Magnus Lindberg brings soulmates Schumann and Stravinsky to the Sunday chamber matinée
FRSO chamber ensembles take a look at three eras. Robert Schumann added a piano to the string quartet in a work reflecting the Romantic era at its purest. “Schumann is always there for me, a colleague always affording me lessons and experiences,” says Lindberg. On how he discovered Stravinsky he says, “Stravinsky opened the door on an idiom I still use today.”
