We welcome Narek Hakhnazaryan 1/3

Watch and listen LIVE at Yle Areena

Armenian Narek Hakhnazaryan is one of the two FRSO artists in residence this season. Tonight he plays The Variations on a Rococo Theme by Piotr Tchaikovsky.

The song cycle Die Nacht der Verlorenen (The Night of the Lost) by Thomas Larcher was a commission from the London Sinfonietta and dates from 2008. As his texts, Larcher chose some expressive, posthumously published verses by Ingeborg Bachmann, a poet he greatly admires, ascribing them the leading role in his composition. Here to sing them is Italian Andrè Schuen, a baritone who has won acclaim in opera and Lied alike.

Due to COVID-19 measures audiences will not be permitted to attend concerts by the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra in the Helsinki Music Centre’s Concert Hall . The concert will be shown on Yle Areena.
