FRSO Festival: Thomas Adès - The Daring Duchess

The FRSO festival pauses for a while in the company of one of today’s leading musical thinkers, Thomas Adès. “He takes influences from everywhere – from Offenbach, from jazz, from the French Baroque, even from minimalism – and creates his own individual language within this one composition,” writes Steven Isserlis, the cellist for whom Adès wrote Lieux retrouvés.
