It's been quite a year in Finnish news, and not just because of the recent government crises and the elevation of Sanna Marin to become the youngest Prime Minister in the world.

From the parliamentary and European elections to the passing of a controversial ski jump legend and glorious successes in football and ice hockey, we've covered a lot of big stories here at Yle News.

We asked AFP's Helsinki correspondent Sam Kingsley and Yle's head of content planning Katariina Luoma to help us mull over the year's events – and even ask what might come next.
