Miss Finland 2012 was chosen on Sunday evening in Hämeenlinna. The winner of the annual beauty pageant was Sara Chafak, a brunette business student from Helsinki, whose favourite pastime is cooking food from Morocca -- her father's homeland.
The runners-up were Sabina Särkkä from Helsinki and Viivi Suominen of Turku. Hosting the event was Lola Odusoga Wallinkoski, a Nigerian-Finnish model who won the event 15 years ago.
Viewers were able to vote by sms and phone for the third time in the contest’s history. This was the 51st annual Miss Finland contest. The competition was first held in 1961.
