The Finnish News Agency STT reported Thursday that two suspected perpetrators wanted in connection with the crime were run to ground abroad.

The men are currently awaiting extradition to Finland. Lead police investigator Jukka Larkio did not disclose details of any events leading up to the breakthrough or where the men were located.

Two years ago the gang of five stole three million euros' worth of goods from the Malmi jewelry store in Finland’s largest-ever burglary. The booty is still missing.

Two other suspects received prison sentences of five and a half and six years for their role in the robbery.
