When the restructuring talks were announced, Tieto said it was moving towards automation and digitalisation of services.

At the time it was estimated that the re-organisation would result in the loss of about 500 jobs.

On Monday the company announced that co-determination talks had resulted in an agreement to send home 435 workers.

The company said it would eliminate 295 positions in its managed services unit, while 140 roles would be redlined from its consultation and integrated services division.

Tieto said that the staff reductions would be implemented over the next nine months and should be complete by the end of the year.
