Two people were sentenced to life in prison in Tampere for murdering and dismembering their victims.
A 29-year-old man was convicted of murdering a man who had gone missing two years ago. A 31-year-old woman was found guilty of murdering another man last year.
The pair had also helped each other cut their victims into pieces in order to hide them. They also tried to destroy other evidence.
The courts agreed with a medical report concluding that both of the accused were completely sane and aware of their actions. In addition to life sentences, they were ordered to pay 100,000 euros in damages and court costs to the victims’ families.
The two were also convicted of violating the sanctity of the grave and hiding evidence.
