Air traffic control in the northern city of Oulu detected a self-constructed light aircraft flying above the Sanginjoki area west of Oulu without proper proper authorisation. The aircraft was observed about 60 kilometres from the Oulu airport.

Police reached the pilot, who told the officers he was taking his plane – which he said he built himself – on a ”little jaunt”.

Police are investigating the incident as a suspected aviation violation and unauthorised use of a vehicle, as the alleged aircraft builder does not possess a pilot’s license.
