Bank workers will go on a two-day strike tomorrow and Friday after negotiations with employers failed on Wednesday.
National Conciliator Minna Helle said that at this point all the possibilities for an agreement have been exhausted.
“The differences between the parties are so considerable that the dispute cannot be resolved.”
The key sticking point between the employer and employee representatives revolves around the terms and conditions for weekend work. No new negotiations are currently scheduled, Helle said.
Most bank branches will remain closed on Thursday and Friday, and other services may also be reduced.
