According to a report by commercial broadcaster MTV3 on the court's own investigations, a private individual lodged the complaint, saying that judges told racist jokes and criticised the appearance of parties coming before the court.  Accusations of sexual harassment have also been levelled at the court, says the report.

According to the complaint, judges made derogatory and improper remarks, using racial slurs and referring to the ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation of parties using highly inappropriate language.

The Ombudsman’s office stated that the allegations have been recorded and will be assigned to an investigator to determine the issues that require clarification. The investigation will then be referred to the Ombudsman, who will decide whether the complaint requires further action.
