This week military exercises will involve flying helicopters at very low altitudes over the cities of Helsinki, Vantaa and Sipoo, at all hours of the day and night.

Starting on Sunday, defence force helicopters will carry out drills over the capital region as well as Hanko, Porvoo and Kymenlaakso municipalities.

Some 400 people are participating in the week-long exercises.

According to the Finnish Defence Forces, the exercises are defence and crisis management drills and helicopters are an integral part of the operations.
