Film director, screen writer and producer Francis Ford Coppola will be visiting Helsinki for five days in December as a guest of the National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) and Aalto University’s Department of Film, Television and Scenography (ELO).
Coppola, an award-winning American movie director, screen writer and producer, is well known internationally for his Godfather trilogy.
Coppola, 81, will work with film students at Aalto University on new approaches to filmmaking during his stay. Aalto's ELO students will plan the event’s content and direct the conversations, which will largely take place online given the current coronavirus epidemic and its restrictions.
During his visit, Coppola will give a so-called public talk at Helsinki's Kino Regina theatre on 12 December, which will be a webcast with a virtual audience owing to the current pandemic.
