Finns Spend a Billion Euros on Christmas Gifts

Overall trading in Christmas gifts in Finland totalled around one billion euros in 2007. This year was the tenth consecutive year of growth in Christmas sales. Sales were up by five percent from last year, demonstrating Finns' strong confidence in the economy. Thursday sees the start of annual winter sales in many shops and department stores. YLE
