Lead investigator Kirsi Kanth said police will seek to imprison the man. Further information on the suspect, the victim or the homicide itself is not yet forthcoming.

"Our investigation has just begun, we cannot divulge anything more without endangering the case," Kanth said. "There will be further announcements earliest on Friday."

Locals held a moment of silence for the young victim on the Bokvillan hill from 6 pm. Pastor Kari Kanala comforted the grief-stricken after the ceremony. Pastors are also available for grief counceling at the Paavali church in Vallila.

Story edited to include information about local grief aid.
