IvanaHelsinki and Ivana Trump Reach Agreement

Clothes designer Paola Suhonen’s brand IvanaHelsinki will keep its trademark but change the spelling slightly, newspaper Ilta-Sanomat reports Wednesday. This is following a trademark infringement lawsuit by Ivana Trump, ex-wife of billionaire Donald Trump.

As a consequence of the lawsuit, the clothes brand will alter its spelling to include a space between Ivana and Helsinki.

Trump sued Suhonen for tens of thousands of dollars, saying that the clothes brand infringed on two of Trump’s U.S. trademarks for “Ivana.” She also demanded a commission on the clothes sold. Suhonen did not agree to these terms and lawyers handled the case thereafter.

Suhonen says that the final solution to the dispute satisfies both parties.

Ivana Helsinki’s fall-winter collection Velvet Lake will hit the catwalk of the New York Fashion Week in February.
