Ollila earned 7.8 million euros in taxable income last year. He was also Finland's biggest earner in 2007. Nokia president Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo came in second with 4.3 million euros, while Mikael Lilius, the former CEO of the energy company Fortum, earned 4.2 million euros last year.
In line with Nordic traditions of transparency, all tax return data is public information in Finland.
In terms of capital gains, the tax list was headed by the estate of the late Per Gösta Viktor Hartwall, which declared 159.14 million euros in income for 2008.
