Marimekko announced on Monday that it had signed a partnership agreement with Hong Kong-based retail company Sideframe Ltd.

According to the agreement, Sideframe will own the stores but their location, visual design and marketing will follow Marimekko’s policies.

The first of the stores will be opened this year in Hong Kong. The second store will be in Shanghai, pending suitable retail premises.

Currently Marimekko has a total of 22 Asian stores in Japan and South Korea.
