Helsinki District court has given an eighteen-month suspended sentence to a man convicted of stealing TNT and ammunition from the Defence Forces before selling them on the dark web.

The sentence was exactly what the prosecutor had sought in the case. The 1st Lieutenant was convicted of aggravated embezzlement, aggravated misconduct in office, explosives offences and aggravated firearms offences.

The court found that the dangerous nature of the items stolen and sold was an aggravating factor, as they are particularly dangerous in the wrong hands.
