Oriola, one of Finland's two main pharmaceutical wholesalers, has yet to completely fix problems in its drug delivery system to pharmacies and hospitals.
According to the Finnish Medicines Agency (Fimea), a majority of last week’s orders have been supplied to pharmacies, but trouble persists as regards the contents of the deliveries and packing lists.
In particular, medicines needing cold storage, such as insulin, have been missing from the deliveries, says STT, citing Fimea.
However, in problem situations, most patients have received their medicines from another pharmacy or these have been substituted for a comparable product.
The difficulties in Oriola’s deliveries, which have continued over a week now, started after the company adopted a new data system at the start of September.
