Strawberry Crop Forecast Downgraded

This year's strawberry harvest is turning out to be smaller than expected. Projections have been downgraded by about three million kilos: experts say that about ten million kilos of strawberries are expected this year. Reasons for the poorer-than-expected yield include frost damage from the winter, and local fungus problems. The strawberry season is at its peak now in the south of Finland. In Central Finland and the Savo region, the peak of the strawberry harvest begins next week. YLE
