A firm that supplied taxi drivers to several Helsinki region taxi firms is suspected of evading paying some two million euros in taxes and statutory employers’ contributions, according to documents filed with the Helsinki District Court.

According to the prosecutor, the tax administration wants the three main suspects in the case to pay more than two million euros in unpaid taxes and damages to the state.

Altogether there are eight suspects in the case, two of whom have not been brought to court and one whose case will be heard later.

All of the main suspects have denied the allegations of aggravated fraud. However one of them has admitted to aggravated accounting offences.
