In an interview for YLE's Aamu TV breakfast show, Urpilainen noted that the Greek state owns a lot of property, a part of which could be shifted to a property management company. Shares in that company could serve as guarantees, according to the Finance Minister.

Earlier, Urpilainen had said that Finland would not support a further Greek bailout unless clear guarantees could be agreed.

Meanwhile Centre Party chair and former Prime Minister Mari Kiviniemi strongly criticised Greece for the way the country has handled its financial affairs. The Centre party is planning to oppose the possible new bailout for Greece.
