Watch: Chinese Navy ships dock in Helsinki - open to public on Wednesday

Following last week's joint military exercises with the Russian Navy in the Baltic Sea, three Chinese Navy vessels have stopped at Helsinki's South Harbour for a few days. The ships will be open to the public on Wednesday.

Three Chinese warships and their crew are taking a break in Helsinki this week, after having participated in naval exercises in the Baltic Sea with the Russian Navy last week. According to the Finnish Navy the stopover is a normal, courtesy visit.

The three vessels in Finland include one of the Chinese Navy's newest, the Hefei, a guided missile destroyer, as well as the frigate Yunchen and support ship Luomahu.

The ships are docked at the city district of Katajanokka (next to the Market Square) in Helsinki Harbour and will be open to the public from 10 am until 4 pm on Wednesday, August 2. The street address of the docks is Mastokatu 1.

The Chinese warships will be docked in Helsinki until Friday, when they are scheduled to depart towards the Latvian capital of Riga.
