No Risk To Finland From Japanese Radiation

Finland’s Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority says that the problems at Japanese nuclear power plants do not change its assessment of the risks of radiation in Finland.

According to STUK, the shutdown nuclear reactors in Japan could not release enough radioactive material to cause health problems in Finland.

The earthquake caused several Japanese nuclear plants to shut down. Some units had to resort to emergency cooling measures because their normal cooling systems malfunctioned as electricity supplies were interrupted.
