Sweethearts in Helsinki have started affixing padlocks of love to bridges in a romantic display of affection.
Young lovers and couples stepping into marriage have been clamping love padlocks to the railings of bridges and throwing away the key. The Helsinki City Public Works Department says a small bridge in the Vanhankaupunginkoski district has been a magnet for locks of love.
The city says it has no intention of removing these tokens of affection. Similar customs exist in major cities around the world.
The couple will visit a school in Vantaa and the Santahamina garrison
Taking place in 2018-2019, the excess logging was done during expansion work on a Google data centre facility.
