Urpilainen said that these elections showed that the Finns wanted change.
"The rightist government got handed its coat," she told a party gathering Sunday evening.
The SDP leader predicted that talks on government formation will be difficult.
"There are lots of big questions. How can state indebtedness be stopped, how can the economy be balanced, how can we increase social justice, how will taxation be developed? There are lots of big questions first, and only then time for the matter of portfolios," Urpilainen said.
Early in the evening, as the major gains made by the True Finns became evident, Urpilainen stated that their place was in the next cabinet.
