Her comments came at the meeting of eurozone finance ministers held in Luxembourg on Thursday. The ministers met to discuss problems facing Spanish banks and the Greek loan crisis.

According to Urpilainen, Finland is not prepared to accept a Greek request for an extra two years to implement its savings programme.

"We believe that extra time means extra cash. This is an impossible demand for us," Urpilainen stated.
